How it works

Three steps, no sales call.

01

Pick your coach

Read what each one actually specializes in. Competition prep is a different job than getting back in shape after a decade off, and the right match matters more than the facility.

02

Contact them directly

You talk to the coach, not to a front desk. They quote their own rates, set their own availability, and tell you honestly whether they are the right fit.

03

Hold a membership

Training clients keep an active $50/month gym membership, which also gets you 24/7 access on your own between sessions. That is the only thing The Lab charges you.

Why independent

Nobody here has a sales quota.

At most gyms, trainers are employees with session targets, and the front desk is paid to move you into a package. The Lab works the other way around. Coaches pay no rent and no fees and keep one hundred percent of what they charge. Nothing they earn passes through us.

That changes the conversation you get. A coach with no quota has no reason to sell you sessions you do not need, and no reason to stay somewhere that is not working for their clients. The only reason they are here is that they want to be.

Every coach carries an industry-recognized certification and their own liability insurance, and works non-exclusively. If you are a trainer yourself, here is the deal we offer →

Coaching without the hourly

Not sure you need a trainer in the room?

Guided Training is The Lab’s own program at $100 a month: a coach builds your plan around an InBody scan, sets your macro targets, updates everything monthly, and answers questions in the app. You just run the sessions yourself on your own schedule. It costs a fraction of one-on-one work. See how Guided Training works →

Eating is usually the part that stalls people. Nutrition guidance and macro targets →

Training hard and beat up? Osiel Alvarez, LMT handles sports massage, cupping, and Graston →

Training is booked directly with your coach. The Lab is the 24/7 home base where coaching happens; coaches manage their own practices, availability, and rates. Serving Waco and nearby Woodway, Hewitt, Robinson, and Bellmead.
How much does a personal trainer cost at The Lab?

Each coach sets their own rates, so pricing varies by coach and by what you are training for. Contact the coach directly for current rates. The Lab itself only charges the $50 per month gym membership that training clients hold.

Do I need a gym membership to work with a trainer?

Yes. Personal training clients hold an active $50 per month membership, which also gives you 24/7 access to train on your own between sessions. There is a one-time $50 signup fee.

How do I choose a personal trainer?

Review the coaches’ stated specialties, then contact the coach whose approach best matches your goals to discuss fit, availability, and rates. Competition prep, general fitness, and student-athlete performance are genuinely different jobs.

Are the trainers certified?

Yes. Every coach practicing at The Lab carries an industry-recognized certification and their own liability insurance. They are independent professionals, not employees of The Lab.

Are group fitness and student-athlete training available?

Kelvin Robinson lists group fitness and student-athlete performance through HighPower Fitness. Contact him directly for current details.

Is personal training included with membership?

No. Personal training is an optional service booked directly with an independent coach. Membership gets you the floor; nothing is bundled onto it.

Do you serve areas outside Waco?

The Lab is at 2912 Franklin Ave in Waco, a short drive from Woodway, Hewitt, Robinson, and Bellmead. Clients come from across the greater Waco area.
